However, even then, every other export would still have the glitches.

The only thing that seemed to help somewhat was downloading a fan control app from app store and forcing fan to run at full speed. Issues persists regardless of configuration. Have tried swapping out 3rd party RAM with original factory RAM as well as rendering both off external USB 3.0 drive and my Thunderbolt RAID. However, cannot successfully render out this timeline, or any timeline, to 4k without glitches.

Been back and forth to Apple store 7 times, had them swap out both D700 cards already, did clean OSX install with nothing but Resolve 12.1 installed on OSX 10.10.5, but still getting the issue.ġ080 outputs originally were also glitching/crashing, but work now after D700's were swapped out. No thunderbolt connectivity but have installed a usb3.1 card.Īnybody manage to find a fix for the horizontal green/pink line glitches when rendering? Have had a nightmare of a time the past month working on a 3 min commercial piece shot in 6k HD RED Dragon exporting to 4k ProRes 4444 delivery. Should be able to edit and grade with it in real time (i'm hoping) but will have to test and post results of the limits when I can. Havn't managed to stress the system yet as I do not have any 4k footage to play around with. Get pretty decent speeds with a raid card, that can, in addition, also run a second array of HDD for mass storage (i have 20tb here) There is a also a kit you can apply that allows you to run an internal 4 x SSD raid where the top optical drive bay should be (I have 4 x samsung 1tB) that i intend to use as my workflow area. 12 core, titan x, 120gig ram with 1 igig apple flash drive (gen2) for operating system.

Can't think beyond Apple OS, and might be I'm taking the safest route? Looks like till Mac Pro 7.1 comes and we can check again. So far, my 5.1 Mac Pro can do what is needed (real time is a problem in certain cases) but no render glitches. Have ordered upgrading to 12 cores 3.33 ghz and to Titan X (from Titan 6 GB).

My 2012 Mac Pro 5.1 8 core needs an upgrade. Subrata Senn wrote:I am following this thread carefully, very carefully. Thinking about building a linux machine for resolve and using a macbook air for everything else. There seems to be a serious design issue with this thing, and I regret getting the 1st gen of a new apple redesign/product. It is going to the "genius bar" today and they are probably going to give me a new one, I am not expecting it to be any better after reading up on nearly every forum post online of people with similar issues and configurations/workflows. I have to power it on again and wait for it to come back and I get a report dialog telling me about MCA errors, and aforementioned GPU hangs/restarts in console. In addition, every time the computer goes to sleep, it crashes and never wakes up. Apple should be embarrassed that their 900 dollar budget machine actually works relative to their supposed flagship pro computer. Rebooted, tried to render again, same thing.Įnded up having to move the project over to a spare mac mini, which happily rendered it out at 24fps and I was really impressed. Was super embarrassing in front of my team as I dropped almost 5k (and a lot of you spent more!) on this computer. Was working on a 12 minute 2K prores timeline in resolve and it colored fine but when we got to render out it was all good chugging away at 60-70fps and towards the last minute or so of render i saw a few black frames and then some LSD glitches and then the mac pro went to a blue screen with weird lines and then crashed and died.
